Click on the Title for a Video Intro The Last Biblical Shaker Post The Bible Biblical Shakers, this is my last posting for my blog.  Last week I finished with the last devotional post for every chapter in the Bible, and this week I want to concentrate on the importance of reading the Bible and actually “Being in the Word’. First of all, there are some facts that I want to share with you. The Bible is a collection of 66 books in most Protestant Bibles (39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament).  It was written over a period of approximately 1,500 years with more than 40 different authors contributing, including kings, prophets, disciples, shepherds, fishermen, and a physician.  The Bible was originally written primarily in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek and now is the most widely distributed and translated book in history.   The longest book in the Bible is Psalms counting 150 chapters.  The Old Testament contains 929 chapters, and the New Testament c...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Revelation Chapter 19 Revelation 19 Mindy Strayer THOUGHT Reading Revelation chapter 19 reminded me of the awesome power that the name of Jesus brings. Verse 12, speaking of Jesus, “and his name is the Word of God.” Verse 15, “Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.” Verse 21, ”The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse (Jesus).” Here I picture Jesus speaking out against Satan, the same scripture that we have access to right now in our own Bibles. If you recall, Ephesians  Chapter 6 speaks of the armor of God. Verse 17 says, “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit”, which is the Word of God. The name of Jesus and God’s Word is our weapon against the enemy. When we pray against Satan and his followers, our prayers are most effective when we speak the Word of God. That is why it is so important to be in His Word daily so that it get...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Revelation Chapter 14 Revelation 14 Verse 14 Bart Strayer Verse 14: …seated on the cloud was one ‘like the son of man’ with a crown of gold on his head and sharp sickle in his hand. THOUGHT Here we have the image of the final judgment with Christ separating the faithful from the unfaithful with the sickle in his hand. Christians rejoice in the long-awaited reward of an eternity with Christ. All of our years of following Christ now have the next chapter to be written. All of the years following Christ now make sense to the masses. I was reading in my devotional this morning, and I liked the following few sentences: “WE are not told to ‘walk in the light’ of our conscience or in the light of a sense of duty, but to ‘walk in the light as He is in the light’. (1 John 1:7)  When we do something out of a sense of duty, it is easy to explain the reasons for our actions to others. But when we do something out of obedience to the Lord, there can...
