Click on Title for a Video Intro Monday, Ezekiel Chapter 44 Ezekiel 44  Verse 30 Bart Strayer Verses 30: “The best of all the first fruits and all of your special gifts will belong to the priests. You are to give them the first portion of your ground meat so that a blessing may rest on your household.” THOUGHT Here again the Bible is talking about our giving to the Lord. The verse makes mention of your first fruits, which are your monetary gifts and depending on the time period, a product of your trade (grain, woodcrafts etc.) The idea being, the variety of people would provide a variety of products for the purposes of the Lord.  The verse also says your “special gifts” are to be given. This is where I struggle. Special gifts can encompass many different aspects including our time, talents, and other offerings. It seems the hardest thing for me to give, and think we could all admit to this, is our time and talents. It is easy to cut the check to the Lord, but it is the ...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Ezekiel Chapter 40 Ezekiel 40 Verse 5a Jeanie Boldt Verse 5a:  I saw a wall completely surrounding the temple area. THOUGHT The city of Jerusalem and the temple had been destroyed; the land had been taken over by the Babylonians. The people had been scattered or exiled. Ezekiel did what God’s people always must do in times of trial; he looked ahead to the glorious future God had planned. After all the scattering of the people and the errors of their living, God will restore the land, rebuild the city, a new temple and a new priesthood. The next few chapters share about how the new temple was declared to the people. Our chapter today brings with it details of the courtyard, gates and rooms for sacrifices and Priests.  The yard, fence and landscaping make a house look attractive. It is a means to make a person walking by attracted to what may lie within. God’s plan for even the walls and gates are so important.   We as Chri...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Ezekiel Chapter 35 Ezekiel 35 Verse 6 Jane Jones Verse 6:  “Therefore as surely as I live,” declares the Sovereign Lord, “I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.” THOUGHT Have you ever done or said anything unkind that came back to bite you in the back the following day??? Have you ever done anything to get even with someone that you disagreed with only to have the problem arise again bigger the second time??? Have you ever mistreated someone so badly one day to find the next day you were treated likewise?? God has a way of turning our treatment of others into a boomerang so we must be careful in our judgment of others. What kind of boomerangs do we have out there that are waiting to come back to us?? PRAYER Dear Lord, tonight I can’t help but think of the boomerangs I have out there in space waiting to come back at me. Are they good boomerangs??? Favors I did for o...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Ezekiel Chapter 30 Ezekiel 30 Verse 24 Jeanie Boldt Verse 24:  I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a mortally wounded man. THOUGHT When I was reading and studying the book of Daniel and all the mean things that King Nebuchadnezzar did, never did I realize that The Lord would use him for His own need. God wanted to destroy Egypt’s military superiority and give it to Babylon. The rising and falling of all the different nations at times gets so tiresome to read about and hear about. However, God allows it to accomplish a particular purpose way beyond our immediate understanding.   I guess we should not despair when our country is involved in certain unrest and war conditions.  We must remember that God is sovereign and in charge of everything, even military might. We must remember to pray for our military and g...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Ezekiel Chapter 25   Ezekiel 25 Delores Little THOUGHT In this chapter we find God taking out some nations that were speaking badly about His people.  The words that stand out are “Then you will know that I AM the LORD”.  We see these in verses 5, 7, 11 and 17. God says He will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them.  Hebrews 10:31 says, “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”  The nations in this chapter are Ammon, Moab, Edom & Philistia. We have more coming up in the next few chapters.  We serve a jealous God, and He wants to be the first in our lives every day once we come to Him by His Holy Spirit and Jesus our Lord. We are not to speak evil of His chosen people even though they have done wrong things. He wants us to PRAY, and that really is speaking to us today in the USA. I see things happening now like I have read about in the Old Testament. I really never thought I’d li...
