Monday, Ezekiel Chapter 25
Ezekiel 25

THOUGHT
In this chapter we find God taking out some nations that were speaking badly about His people.  The words that stand out are “Then you will know that I AM the LORD”.  We see these in verses 5, 7, 11 and 17.

God says He will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them.  Hebrews 10:31 says, “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”  The nations in this chapter are Ammon, Moab, Edom & Philistia. We have more coming up in the next few chapters.

We serve a jealous God, and He wants to be the first in our lives every day once we come to Him by His Holy Spirit and Jesus our Lord. We are not to speak evil of His chosen people even though they have done wrong things. He wants us to PRAY, and that really is speaking to us today in the USA. I see things happening now like I have read about in the Old Testament.

I really never thought I’d live long enough to see what is happening today.  I need God so much every day.  I need to be in His Word that feeds me.  No matter how much I read I will always need help with finding things in God’s Word.  God does work in mighty ways.  May He use us!!

PRAYER
Father, forgive us of our sins and pride and let us learn to ask and lean on one another.  May You be glorified.  May we be praying vessels for You daily.
In the Name of Jesus.  AMEN

Tuesday, Ezekiel Chapter 26
Ezekiel 26

THOUGHT
Today the Prophecy is against Tyre which is present day Lebanon. Ezekiel, more than any other prophet, prophesied against Tyre from chapters 26 through 28 of this book. Isaiah did in Isaiah 23, Jeremiah did in Jerimiah 25:22, 47:4, Joel 3:4-5, Amos 1:9-10 and Zechariah in 9:2-4.

God sends Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, to take Tyre out, and he does. God wanted them to know He alone was God. This must have been a beautiful place. It was self-centered and not God centered.  This was a mistake. We don’t mess with our Heavenly Father as He is over all.  He wanted us to have the best, and it was Him above all else. Like Matthew 6:33, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

We will learn more about Tyre in the next two chapters.

PRAYER
Father, we ask forgiveness of our sins and failing at times to follow You like we should and for putting other things before You.  Open wide our hearts and eyes to see You, not only in the Word of God but our churches and travels.  Let us be light for You.  In the Name of Jesus.  AMEN

Wednesday, Ezekiel Chapter 27
Ezekiel 27

THOUGHT
Tyre must have been quite the city of beauty. In verse 3 the Lord says, “You say, O Tyre, I am perfect in beauty.” and verse 4 “Your domain was on the high seas; your builders brought your beauty to perfection.”

Many different countries gave to the people of Tyre to build this place. God was not glorified in any of this.  His hand came against this city, and the ones who brought things to it.  In verse 11 it is written, “Your wealth, merchandise and wares, your mariners, seamen and shipwrights, your merchants and all your soldiers, and everyone else on board will sink into the heart of the sea on the day of your shipwreck.”  This city is going to be destroyed.

With all the tragedy happening in our country, we are to draw near to God because He is our answer in all things good and bad. We NEED HIM always. Our country is saying things are OK but we know better.  If bad things get to us, can you see how they would make God feel?

In Proverbs 6:16-19 there are six things the Lord hates, and seven that are detestable to Him”
1. HAUGHTY EYES
2. A LYING TONGUE
3. HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD
4. A HEART THAT DEVISES WICKED SCHEMES
5. FEET THAT ARE QUICK TO RUSH INTO EVIL
6. A FALSE WITNESS WHO POURS OUT LIES
7. A MAN WHO STIRS UP DISSENSION AMONG BROTHERS.

I am guilty of most of the above.  I thank God for bringing me to Jesus, His beloved Son, who paid it all for us.

PRAYER
Father, we ask You daily to clean us up for Your Kingdom and help us be lights in the world.  Be with all who are traveling.  Bless our churches to preach God’s Word.  May hearts be opened to receive You.  Thank You for everything, and Bless us in Jesus Name. AMEN

Thursday, Ezekiel Chapter 28
Ezekiel 28

THOUGHT
This chapter has a couple of things that are very complicated to understand but gets our minds to really think hard. Verses 11-19 include phrases describing the human king of Tyre that may also describe Satan. Great care must be taken to interpret these verses with discernment. It is clear that at times Ezekiel describes this king in terms that could not apply to a mere man. This king had been in the Garden of Eden (Verse 13), had been anointed as a guardian cherub (Verse 14) and had access to the holy mountain of God, but was driven from there. Ezekiel, therefore, may have been condemning not only the king of Tyre, but Satan, who had motivated the king to sin.  Pride lifted him up, but God cast him down.  This is deep stuff, family.

Later in verses 20-26, it reminds us of the promise that God’s people will live in complete safety. This promise has not yet been fulfilled.  While many were allowed to return from exile under Zerubbabel, Ezra, and Nehemiah, and although the political nation is restored today, the inhabitants do not yet live in complete safety.  Therefore, this promise will have its ultimate fulfillment when Christ sets up His eternal kingdom. Then all people who have been faithful to God will dwell together in harmony and complete safety.

With a little help from my application Bible, I did get through this chapter. Please do more research on your own. Otherwise, it will be made clear when we praise our Lord and Savior upon His return.

PRAYER
Father, even though Your Word pushes us for understanding, we love the study. Clear our minds and give us the wisdom that we need. Keep us strong in Your love and knowledge to fight against the evil one. We lift up Your chosen people this day and pray that one day they would come to the saving grace and mercy that comes with believing in our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are waiting for the day that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that You are Lord and Savior. In the Blood of Jesus. AMEN

Friday, Ezekiel Chapter 29
Ezekiel 29
Verses 14-15
Delores Little

Verses 14-15:  “I will bring them back from captivity and return them to Upper Egypt, the land of their ancestry.  There they will be a lowly kingdom. It will be the lowliest of kingdoms and will never again exalt itself above the other nations.”

THOUGHT
This is a prophecy against Egypt, as God wanted them to know He was the Lord.
For forty years the land would have no one there, and then God would bring them back.  (In the above verses)

It has never ever again been a great nation since that time. Nebuchadnezzar was sent by God not only against Tyre but Egypt also. He carried off their wealth and plundered the land.  God wanted all the nations to know “HE ALONE WAS GOD AND NO OTHER.”

In I Corinthians 10:6 it says, “Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.”

Now we have Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and we are to seek God above all else in our world today.  I know I fall so short every day in doing this. I am slowly learning to hand things over to God, and He will take care of me.

Proverbs 3:5-8 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”

I Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

PRAYER
Father God, we do fall short every day, but thanks be to You that we can come and ask for forgiveness and know Jesus paid it all. Let us be the humble servants You desire for us to be.  You truly are our friend. Heal the sick. Take care of the men and women in service overseas and here on the home front. Be with all the ones who work to protect us from evil things.  Bless each day for us.  We thank You so much for Your Holy Word that You have given us to read and share with others. In Jesus Name We Pray. AMEN
