We have the advantage of knowing for certain because we are reading about Deborah hearing the command of the Lord and all that transpired after that Word was obeyed. Click on title For Video Intro Monday, Joshua Chapter 20 Joshua 20 Verses 1-3 Delores Little Verses 1-3:  Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Tell the Israelites to designate the cities of refuge, as I instructed you through Moses, so that anyone who kills a person accidentally and unintentionally may flee there and find protection from the avenger of blood.” THOUGHT Can you see the compassion of God in this chapter?  What does that tell us for today and the time we are living in?  I felt the Lord showing me last night that our city of refuge is JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD. We can say we have not murdered anyone, BUT, we have, Dear Ones.  It can be in our thinking or how we treat someone. We can be killing them inside by how or what we do or say to them.  But thanks be to God who has given us our Lord Jesus.  He took it all on the cross so we can freely come to our Father in Jesus Name and by the Holy Spirit leading us to be set free.   Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Joshua Chapter 15 Joshua 15 Verse 12b Jane Jones Verse 12b:  “These are the boundaries around the people of Judah by their clans.” THOUGHT This chapter described the allotment for Judah. These boundaries and descriptions of the Promised Land are very specific. God was telling Israel exactly what to do. This was the promise.  This was the Promised Land. How awesome that Moses led the people to it, and Joshua followed out the orders and established it. God gave these people just exactly what they needed. There was no excuse for disobedience.  And to this day, God is still giving us just exactly what we need. There are times in our lives that we feel we desire something or want something, and it is unreachable. Is it because we truly don’t need it and God does not want us to extend ourselves to acquire it? Today’s chapter might be a lesson on redefining our needs vs our desires. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. THOUGHT I couldn’t help but think about all the times I have said that I wished time would stand still. How marvelous it would be to just let the sun stand still. Many times in our busy world we say that our day is just not long enough. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to get all our work done and then tell God to give us the night? However, me being type A, I would never have everything done.  The Lord is one powerful God to have on your side. Look at what He can do. He was fighting for Israel and creating things that would help them out. Let’s continue to be in communion with the Lord. We want Him on our side. He helps us daily without even being asked.   Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Joshua Chapter 5 Joshua 5 Verses 11-12 Heather Williams April 13, 2006 Verses 11-12: The day after the Passover, that very day, they ate some of the produce of the land; unleavened bread and roasted grain.  The manna stopped the day after they ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate of the produce of Canaan.    THOUGHT I picked these verses because this passage always reminds me of how faithful and miraculous our God is. Here He provided for these people each day faithfully for their food for forty years.  Amazing!  And now, when the land was ready to provide for them, the Lord didn’t need to send manna.  He was still providing for them through the land. God can provide for each of us miraculously, but He also expects us to use our God given talents and resources to provide for ourselves and others.  We need to make sure our eyes are open to the ...

The intro to my Bible states he leads the people into the Promised Land taking over where Moses ended. We have often heard so much about Moses and his leadership of the people out of Egypt and what a leader he was. Although I don’t recall him being remembered for winning in battles, we do remember what struggles and challenges he had as a leader of a people who wanted to be free yet whined and complained and seemed to lose faith so easily. Not so sure I would want to ‘fill’ Moses’ shoes. It states Joshua was a brilliant military leader who submitted to God. It will be neat to see how Joshua listened to God and how he was rewarded for that ‘listening’.  We need to observe our own ‘listening’ ears when it comes to God speaking to us.
