THOUGHT When I read this chapter, this is the verse that I already had underlined. I have been there. I am sure that you have waited in anticipation for an answer or outcome about a situation. They are wanderers, prisoners, the sick, and the storm-tossed. No matter how extreme our calamity, God is able to break through to help us. He is loving and kind to those who are distressed. The verse, “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress”, was repeated four different times, and the Lord always came to their rescue. God has done so much for us, and we have so much for which to thank Him. These four different types of people typify anyone who has not found the satisfaction that comes from knowing God.
