Click on title for Video Intro Monday Leviticus Chapter 10 Leviticus 10 Verse 1-2 Jeanie Boldt Verse 1-2:  Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to His command. So fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord. THOUGHT It did not take long for the sin to enter the priestly family. After a great experience with the Lord, beware of the enemy’s attack. Elijah ran away after the great victory at Mount Carmel, and Jesus was tempted after His baptism at the Jordan. Great blessings sometimes mean great temptations. Eleven times in Chapters 8-9 you find the phrase “the Lord commanded”.  Nadab and Abihr did what the Lord had NOT commanded, and the fire of God killed them. (Hebrews 12:29 “for our God is a consuming fire.”) At the beginning of new periods in redemptive history, God judged sin in a dramatic way so that the people...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Leviticus Chapter 5 Leviticus 5 Verse 1 Delores Little Verse 1:  “If a person sins because he does not speak up when he hears a public charge to testify regarding something he has seen or learned about, he will be held responsible.”  THOUGHT Today is on sin offering and guilt offerings.  I just put verse one down but the sins in the first 4 verses speak of speaking up, touching unclean animals or humans that are unclean and taking an oath bad or good. I remember when I lived in Plattsmouth and was in a drug store and saw someone steal a newspaper, and I did not speak up. Boy did I feel guilty. I did share it with the owner the next time I was in about it, and he said I’d be surprised at how many things people steal from him. We grow up being told by our parents not to tell on people, and I can see what they are doing, but we need to go farther.  We need to explain what should be shared and what should not. We have the bul...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Leviticus Intro Leviticus Intro Tanya Ruden THOUGHT I am going to just do a short little introduction to the book of Leviticus including a couple of fun facts.  The word holiness is used the most in this book of the Bible than any other. What a great reminder this is to us.  Sometimes this is a quality of God we may overlook.  We think more of His power and knowledge, but it is good to remember his ultimate holiness. Also this book is about worship. Moses and his gang hung out under Mt. Sinai for two years, and this book is about their stay there, their worship in the tent, sacrifices and other experiences. Something I read mentioned that this book also has celebrations in it, feasts they had and fun worship experiences which I am excited about finding out more. Worship can be a celebration.  It is not something I often associate with the Old Testament, but it will be fun to get that perspective. PRAYER Jesus, I pray that You wi...

Click on title for Video Intro Monday, Psalm Chapter 87 Psalm 87 Verse 1 Jane Jones Verse 1:  He has set his foundation on the holy mountain; THOUGHT This Psalm looks ahead to the Holy City of God. The honor of living there will be granted to all whose names are recorded in the Lamb’s book of life. It is God’s grace that forms and sustains this wonderful community. How could anyone refuse God’s offer to be part of this celebration? It is the perfect time of year to start focusing on our lives if we are truly preparing for the celebration of going home. In Revelation we read in 21:23 that the city we will be going to does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it.  The Glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.  Wow!! I can only imagine. Let’s work on getting our names written in the Lamb’s book of life. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus. PRAYER We thank You, Lord, for Your grace. We thank You, Lord, that You are preparing a place for us on the Holy...
