Monday, Leviticus Chapter 5
Leviticus 5
Verse 1
Delores Little

Verse 1:  “If a person sins because he does not speak up when he hears a public charge to testify regarding something he has seen or learned about, he will be held responsible.”

THOUGHT
Today is on sin offering and guilt offerings.  I just put verse one down but the sins in the first 4 verses speak of speaking up, touching unclean animals or humans that are unclean and taking an oath bad or good.

I remember when I lived in Plattsmouth and was in a drug store and saw someone steal a newspaper, and I did not speak up. Boy did I feel guilty. I did share it with the owner the next time I was in about it, and he said I’d be surprised at how many things people steal from him. We grow up being told by our parents not to tell on people, and I can see what they are doing, but we need to go farther.  We need to explain what should be shared and what should not.

We have the bulls, goats, and lambs for the sin offering and also two young pigeons or turtle doves for the poor. The purpose for the first offering is because ‘All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.’ Rom. 3:23, no one was exempt. It was offered for all people that participated on the feast days.

The meaning for today is about providing reconciliation with God for all who accept Christ as their Savior and Lord. John 1:12 ’Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.’ Gal 1:4 & 5 ‘who gave the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.’ Read Hebrew 10. It really shows it all.

PRAYER
Father, Your Holy Spirit does show us when we fall so short of Your glory, and we thank You for that. Help us live lives for You daily, and may Your will be done not ours. Bless all the Salt Shakers.  In Jesus name we pray.  AMEN

Tuesday, Leviticus Chapter 6
Leviticus 6
Delores Little

THOUGHT
I want you all to know that every offering that is made has to do with Christ Jesus, and He was the one who became the PERFECT OFFERING.

This chapter speaks of three offerings - “BURNT, GRAIN, AND SIN”.  The Burnt offering illustrates complete surrender (Matt. 22:37) Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

Living Sacrifices:  To present our bodies as a living sacrifice (Rom. 12:1-2)
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test
approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  This means we are to give the best of our time, talents, and possessions.

The Grain Offering: The individual grains being ground into fine flour and mixed with oil symbolize our need to lose our identity to become part of the Body of Christ - “For we are unto God a sweet savior of Christ, in them that are saved.” (2 Cor. 2:15)

Sin Offering:  We spoke yesterday about providing reconciliation with God for all who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. (Acts 2: 37-39) “When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, ‘Brothers, what shall we do?’ Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.’”

Now I want you all to think, as you read this chapter, of all that went into these three offerings and how much time it took.  Jesus paid it all for us in that we can come to Him anytime to seek Him out through reading his Word or prayer.

PRAYER
Lord God, help us to be all You have us to be for Your kingdom here on earth and to follow You every day. Let everything we say and do be unto You and not ourselves. Thank You and Praise You.  Please answer all the prayers going up for everyone, for what You want for them. In Jesus Name we pray.  AMEN

Wednesday, Leviticus Chapter 7
Leviticus 7
Verse 11
Delores Little

Verse 11:  These are the regulations for the fellowship offering a person may present to the Lord.

THOUGHT
I’m going to go to 1 John 1:3:  We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with Jesus His Son, Jesus Christ.

God was showing them through these offering what He truly wanted and that is to be in fellowship with Him at all times.

1 Thess. 5:18:  Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

God spoke to me when my husband was ill with cancer one morning in prayer. He said to me, “Can you praise Me and put Willie into My hands?” and I said, “Yes, Lord.”  He said, “He was never yours in the first place, only on loan to you as you are to him.”  Did I do it?  Yes, Yes, & Yes. Was it hard? Yes, and did I weep. I trusted God more than the world. He was and is my only answer.

In Acts 15:19-20:  It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

Jesus paid the price with His blood, and this is to honor Him. We are to keep our bodies for marriage and not sin in sexual sin outside of marriage. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are to stay faithful to our marriage partners forever.

PRAYER
Father, forgive us when we fall so short of Your glory. Help us to keep our eyes and hearts on You every day and do everything unto You that is right and good one day at a time.  Bless everyone and answer all their prayers as You would have them to be answered.  People need their homes to sell; jobs to be had and comfort all who have lost loved ones.  Heal the broken marriages and broken hearts. Touch every nation in the world so that they may hear and understand that You are the Way, the Truth and Life. In Jesus Name we pray. AMEN

Thursday, Leviticus Chapter 8
Leviticus 8
Verse 23
Delores Little

Verse 23:  Moses slaughtered the ram and took some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron’s right ear, on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot.  Then he sprinkled blood against the altar on all sides.

THOUGHT
This chapter is on the ordination of Aaron and his sons.  They had to go through the Sin Offering for atonement, a Burnt Offering for worship and the Ram for ordination.

Are you asking why the blood on the ear, thumb and toe? Well, here again we are reading what Jesus did for us when He died on the cross and was beaten before that. HIS BLOOD PAID IT ALL FOR US.

The ear is to remind us not to listen to any conversation that would violate their consecration to God. Look at our world today with movies, TV and other things that are not Godly. I confess I have been guilty of all of them. It is by Christ’s blood that we as believers’ ears are prepared to hear His voice with a desire to listen to His Word.

The thumb of the right hand was also touched with blood. In the Scriptures, the right hand is used to express power. Only the hand which was anointed with blood was qualified to hold the gifts and sacrifices for God. We hold in this world things that honor God.

The toe of the right foot is us being led by God to walk and talk His way not ours. Our feet can take us many places in this world, but they are to honor God.

PRAYER
Father God, use our ears, hands and feet to glorify You each day. Forgive us when we don’t do it.  Pick us up to do what You want and not what we want. Let us keep our eyes and hearts on You every day in word, thought and deed. God Bless everyone this day with Your Love, Peace, and Joy. In Jesus Name. AMEN

Friday. Leviticus Chapter 9
Leviticus 9
Verses 23-24
Delores Little

Verses 23-24:   Moses and Aaron then went into the Tent of Meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people; and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people. Fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown.

THOUGHT
After Moses in the previous chapter got Aaron and his sons ready to serve, our Father let them do it for the first time.

When I think of the glory of the Lord, I think of God sending Jesus as a baby to live among us and take our sins on Himself so we could go right to the Father in prayer in Jesus name.

When I read about the burnt offerings they had to do, it reminded me of some scriptures from yesterday’s Bible Study.

Psalm 103:12:  As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.  In our study it brought out that while we perceive an end to north and south directions on a map or globe, there is no end to east and west. God’s forgiveness is unending.

Isaiah 1:18:   Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

Micah 7:19:  You will have compassion on us; You will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.

Don’t let Satan try to bring them up and make you believe you are not forgiven if you already repented of them.

Romans 3:25:  God presented Him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in His blood.  He did this to demonstrate His justice, because in His forbearance He left the sins committed beforehand unpunished.

Hebrews 10:17:  Then He adds, “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”

When we read the Old Testament and see all they had to do to get forgiveness for sins and other acts, we so need to go before God every day in reading His Word, prayer and going out to help others.

PRAYER
Father, thank You for all Your Son Jesus did for us so we can come right to You anytime.  Praise the Lord.  In Jesus Name.  AMEN
