Monday, Psalm Chapter 77
Psalm 77
Verse 14
Jeanie Boldt

Verse 14:  You are the God who performs miracles,
You display your power among the peoples.

THOUGHT
This verse is referring to the miracle that the Lord did by parting the Red Sea. If you remember, God kept the people waiting by the Red Sea. It was nighttime, and the deliverance came just in the nick of time. The people were afraid and certain that God had forgotten them, but He showed His power and humiliated the enemy.

I am sure that each of you have a miracle of your own that you could share. Last week our friend Rich was very anxious and worried about his father who was having open heart surgery. It was quite critical, and his father knew that there was a chance that he would not make it. There were prayer groups all over Omaha.  Rory and I, Mom and Jane had been praying for him for about 2 weeks. The day, Halloween, came and things seemed to go OK in surgery until they were just about closed. His heart stopped beating. The surgeon came out and shared that he was very critical and that there had been complications. They were going to have to go back in and see what was wrong. Prayers were going up all over. Anyway at this moment in time, Rich’s dad’s heart started beating again. The doctor said that it was nothing that he had done. This was a divine intervention.  The Lord performed a miracle for this family.

I know we all have examples. Some of them are little and may be less important. However, there are no coincidences. Each event that has no real logic of its own is God’s hand in action. Let us not forget those special moments. They are acts of encouragement, affirmation and faith in OUR GOD!!!!!!

PRAYER
Father God, we benefit from Your great power and the love that You have for each of us. We love You so much for being our miracle worker and granting us happenings that we have no ability to control on our own or change. Please continue to make Your presence known through answered prayer and miraculous actions.  Please keep us from allowing ourselves to take these for granted. Help us to continue to give You thanks and praise. Salt Shakers, don’t ever doubt God. Continue to ask Him to help whether in the deepest of debts or highest of heights.  Make us strong Christians.  AMEN

Tuesday, Psalm Chapter 78
Psalm 78
Verse 4
Jeanie Boldt

Verse 4:  We will not hide them from their children;
we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord,
His power, and the wonders He has done.

THOUGHT
The long psalm reviews the history of Israel; the Exodus, the wilderness journey, the conquest of Canaan, and disciplines God sent them there. A nation’s true history is a record not only of how people treated one another but of how they treated God.  Why the long history lesson? For the sake of the generations to follow. The Jews were commanded to teach their children the works and ways of the Lord so that each generation would know the Lord and trust Him.

We have the same obligation today. Tanya and Heather were guided and encouraged by their dad and I as they attended a Parochial school. It also thrilled me when Heather would sing a solo in church to honor our Lord. I love it when I see my grandchildren and great nieces and nephews go to church. I also love it when I hear Tanya helping Sierra memorize Bible Verses for their Wed. night church group. I love to see Sierra and Crystal sing in church or ring the bells. It is up to us to pass it on!!! We must hand the baton.

People have not changed; they still rebel against God. There is still a need for faithful instructors in the home and leaders in the nation. Do all you can to help the next generation serve the Lord.

PRAYER
Father God, help us never to STOP!!! Keep us from worldly discouragement.  Fill us with love and mercy.  May it be overflowing so that we want to not only pass it on to our family but share it with those we work with and fellowship with. Thank You, Father, for Your power and all the wonders that You have done. In the Name of Jesus.  AMEN

Wednesday, Psalm Chapter 79
Psalm 79
Verse 6
Jeanie Boldt

Verse 6:  Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the kingdoms that do not call on your name.

THOUGHT
God’s wrath and judgment often fell on entire nations because of the sins of people within those nations. We should understand that we don’t mess with GOD!!! He expects certain actions from us. When we fail time and time again plus go way beyond His boundaries, we are going to be punished.  Places who have erased God from their living laws, schools, homes, communities, cultural events will be dealt with.

Delores shared with me that California had passed a homosexual law granting certain rights just two days before the fires began in that state. Then just last week, there was an earthquake in the same state. They are completely rejecting God.  They are recognizing that ungodly ways as just. All those who do not believe will suffer God’s wrath.

PRAYER
Father God, we know that in the end Your glory will be evident to all people. For right now make us strong so that we can make a difference. Help us to stand up and voice our allegiance to YOU when we are surrounded by negative forces. Keep us focused on the day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. May we Salt Shakers not only call Your Name but yell it aloud.  AMEN

Thursday, Psalm Chapter 80
Psalm 80
Verse 19
Jeanie Boldt

Verse 19:  Restore us, O Lord God Almighty;
Make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.

THOUGHT
This chapter is a prayer for the restoration and illumination of God’s people by the shining of God’s face. He gave two pictures of the nation in this chapter. The first part of the chapter dealt with an explanation of Israel being like wayward sheep who would not follow the shepherd. The vine shows that Israel was a fruitful vineyard until she turned from the Lord and began to worship the gods of the nations.

The chapter speaks of restoration three times, one being in the verse I chose. We must seek forgiveness of our sins. With forgiveness, God helps us really look at our sins and see them more clearly. As we see again the wrong we did, we seek forgiveness again. Only then can we constantly be restored to fellowship with God.

God’s people today are sheep in the flock and branches in the vine. Do not take your blessings for granted. He is seeking faithfulness and fruitfulness.

PRAYER
Father God, please forgive us of the sins and wrong doings that we have made this day. Help us to look at the wrongs, examine our actions and beg You again for forgiveness. RESTORE us now to our full shining example for You to smile down on and fill us with the glow of Your face. Help us to be good sheep in the pasture and strong parts of the vine.  AMEN

Friday, Psalm Chapter 81
Psalm 81
Verse 2
Jeanie Boldt

Verse 2:  Begin the music, strike the tambourine, play the melodious harp and lyre.

THOUGHT
This verse so speaks to me tonight. I guess I am still in the memories of the concert with Garth Brooks. He loves what he does. He loves entertaining and bringing joy to others. I find music such a great way to relax, be entertained, communicate to others, heal, praise and fill a void in a very positive way.

There are times when I tire of requesting certain petitions to our Lord and Savior. At times I just want to praise Him. Those are the times that I love the most. The easiest way to do so is to sing praises especially when no one else is around.

My husband is so directed by the Holy Spirit when he drums for God-Worshipping songs. Our Lord and Savior loves to hear us praise Him with instrument and voice no matter what the sound. So this weekend let your voice be heard. PRAISE GOD OUR FATHER AND LORD!!! He loves it no matter what the key.

PRAYER
Father God, we sing a song of praise tonight for You as our King and Father. We love You for who You are and for what You do each and every day for us. May our voices reflect the JOY that You have put in our heart and soul. May the songs that we hum each day be tunes with uplifting words and awesome melodies.  AMEN
