Monday, Jeremiah Chapter 5
Jeremiah 5
Verse 1
Jeanie Boldt

Verse 1:  “Go up and down the streets of Jerusalem, look around and consider, search through her squares.  If you can find but one person who deals honestly and seeks the truth, I will forgive this city.”

THOUGHT
Jeremiah went looking for one person, just one, not a Bible Study or a family or a church, just one soul who would stand up for Our God.  God would have spared Sodom had He found ten righteous men as written in Genesis 18.  But to spare Jerusalem, He would have settled for ONE!!  Yet Jeremiah could not find one, not even among the ‘great men’ who were spiritual leaders in the city.

Jerusalem was the capital city and center of worship for Judah, but God challenged anyone to find ONE honest and truthful person in the entire city.  God was willing to spare the city if one upright person could be found.

Never underestimate the importance of one person living wholly for the Lord.  Perhaps you can be that ‘righteous one’ in your place of employment, neighborhood, at the gym, book club, PTA, or at the coffee shop.  Think how significant your testimony may be in your city or community.  You may represent the only witness for God to many people.

Are we faithful to that opportunity?

PRAYER
Father, make us strong witnesses for You!!  Take fear and unworthiness from us and give us the words and actions so that we may share Your Mighty Word with others and tell them of Your forgiveness.  Help us to be the ONE where there is none.  In the Name of Jesus.  AMEN

Tuesday, Jeremiah Chapter 6
Jeremiah 6
Verse 16
Jeanie Boldt

Verse 16:  The Lord says, “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

THOUGHT
We face the same decision today, going God’s old but true way, or following a new path of our own choosing.  Don’t be misled. The only way to find peace is to walk on God’s path.  How thankful to know that our children are on that pathway.

PRAYER
Jesus our Friend, we love walking with You beside us. Thank You for Your companionship. May we look forward to the exercise daily.  In the Name of Jesus.  AMEN

Wednesday, Jeremiah Chapter 7
Jeremiah 7
Verse 23
Jeanie Boldt

Verse 23:  Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people.  Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you.

THOUGHT
We must make a commitment to our God and Father to follow Him. Our life can be so simple if we obey the Lord our God in ALL areas of our life, not just the ones we desire. WE must not cut ourselves off from God for He is our only source of spiritual strength.

PRAYER
Father, may I commit to You and Your ways each day. May I be an example of one of Your followers today to someone who knows You not. May my example make just one someone want to walk down the same path.  In the Name of Jesus. AMEN

Thursday, Jeremiah Chapter 8
Jeremiah 8
Verse 4
Jeanie Boldt

Verse 4:  When men fall down, do they not get up?  When a man turns away, does he not return?

THOUGHT
How hard it would be to turn from your sin without the forgiving love of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. I feel we are miles ahead of where the people in Jeremiah’s life-time were. We have the grace and mercy of our Lord through His Son. What a sacrifice for us. We make mistakes time and time again. We can return each time through a simple act of asking for forgiveness.

PRAYER
God our Father, thank You for giving us Your Son so that our mistakes and sins can be forgiven. What a wonderful gift. May we always get up and return to you each time we error. AMEN

Friday, Jeremiah Chapter 9
Jeremiah 9
Verse 23-24
Jeanie Boldt

Verses 23-24:  “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom, or the strong man boast of his strength, or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight.”

THOUGHT
People tend to admire four qualities in others: human wisdom, power (strength), kindness, and riches. But God puts a higher priority on knowing Him personally and living a life that reflects His justice and righteousness.

LET’S KEEP OUR PRIORITIES IN LINE EACH AND EVERYDAY!!!

PRAYER
Father, help us to ‘Walk the Walk and Talk the Talk!!! Each and every day! Let us not be afraid to praise You in public and boast of Your goodness and mercy. AMEN
