The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. THOUGHT I couldn’t help but think about all the times I have said that I wished time would stand still. How marvelous it would be to just let the sun stand still. Many times in our busy world we say that our day is just not long enough. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to get all our work done and then tell God to give us the night? However, me being type A, I would never have everything done.  The Lord is one powerful God to have on your side. Look at what He can do. He was fighting for Israel and creating things that would help them out. Let’s continue to be in communion with the Lord. We want Him on our side. He helps us daily without even being asked. May you abide in Him always and ask for ...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Joshua Chapter 5 Joshua 5 Verses 11-12 Heather Williams April 13, 2006 Verses 11-12: The day after the Passover, that very day, they ate some of the produce of the land; unleavened bread and roasted grain.  The manna stopped the day after they ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate of the produce of Canaan.    THOUGHT I picked these verses because this passage always reminds me of how faithful and miraculous our God is. Here He provided for these people each day faithfully for their food for forty years.  Amazing!  And now, when the land was ready to provide for them, the Lord didn’t need to send manna.  He was still providing for them through the land. God can provide for each of us miraculously, but He also expects us to use our God given talents and resources to provide for ourselves and others.  We need to make sure our eyes are open to the ...

The intro to my Bible states he leads the people into the Promised Land taking over where Moses ended. We have often heard so much about Moses and his leadership of the people out of Egypt and what a leader he was. Although I don’t recall him being remembered for winning in battles, we do remember what struggles and challenges he had as a leader of a people who wanted to be free yet whined and complained and seemed to lose faith so easily. Not so sure I would want to ‘fill’ Moses’ shoes. It states Joshua was a brilliant military leader who submitted to God. It will be neat to see how Joshua listened to God and how he was rewarded for that ‘listening’.  We need to observe our own ‘listening’ ears when it comes to God speaking to us. PRAYER Lord, as we begin our study of Joshua keep our hearts open to what You want us to learn and hear from...

142nd Week, Micah Chapter 7 & Nahum

Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Micah Chapter 7 Micah 7 Verses 18-19 Delores Little Verses 18-19:  Who is a God like You, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; You will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. THOUGHT What a loving God we serve. How many times do we as believers hold sin against our own family, friends or church members? Our Father sees all and knows all, and He forgives us daily.  This scripture is showing us how to let loose and let God be in control. Matthew 18:18 tells us, “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”  We bind people if we do not forgive them, and by forgiving them, we are letting God work on them.  John 20:22 says, “And with that He breathed on t...

Does he do such things?” “Do not my words do good to him whose ways are upright?” Verse 11:  If a liar and deceiver comes and says, “I will prophesy for you plenty of wine and beer.”  He would be just the prophet for this people! THOUGHT Verses 6&7 reminded me of what I mentioned the prior day about discipline. No one likes to be disciplined. It’s definitely not fun. I never got in trouble, so I don’t know what that was like.  But I could tell by watching Tanya, that discipline was not fun. Just kidding, Tanya.  In verses 6&7 we hear that the messages that Micah was sharing were hard to hear. The people didn’t want to hear about the discipline tha...
