He will be a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.  So, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.” THOUGHT I read this chapter three times, and it is a warning to Jerusalem. They were not doing things right. The verses I chose after much prayer, let us know God is in control of things whether we know it or not. Christ is being foretold, and God is trying to tell them that they need to turn and confess their wrongs and come to Him.  Isn’t that what He does daily to us also? Our world and country are doing what they did back th...

Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Isaiah Chapter 24 Isaiah 24 Verse 16 Mindy Strayer Verse 16:  From the ends of the earth, we hear singing: “Glory to the Righteous One.” THOUGHT This is one of those chapters where one can gain a better understanding of God’s judgment on earth and why He is a God to be feared.  The Lord God Almighty does hate sin. He will punish and destroy all sin one day. When Christ returns, all will be affected. The lowliest of people will confront Christ. Those with power, authority, and rank on earth will answer to the Lord as well. No one can ignore His Lordship. Those who have rejected Jesus Christ will be punished. Those who have accepted Christ and are covered with the blood of Jesus, those who have lived according to God’s will, will all be singing praises to God. Glory to the Righteous One!  Justice has been served, and we will live and reign with Him forever. It is so important for us to tell of God’s love. To tell about ...

He said to him, “Take off the sackcloth from your body and the sandals from your feet.” And he did so, going around stripped and barefoot.   THOUGHT In this chapter God asked Isaiah to go for three years without wearing clothes or shoes, and Isaiah did it!  God’s purpose in this was to symbolize through Isaiah’s humiliation, the humiliation Egypt and Cush were going to experience. Isaiah was willing to bare his physical body for three years for God! What a bold and unashamed man!   This makes me think of all the times when I was prompted by God to bare my soul to another person through conversation, but didn’t. God was only asking me to speak up, yet I was unable to do that. Yet, Isaiah managed to live completely naked for three years. I am inspired by Isaiah’s obedience and courage ...

98th Week, Isaiah Chapters 15-19

Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Isaiah Chapter 15 Isaiah 15 Bart Strayer THOUGHT The people of Moab were not known for the friendly relationship they carried with their neighboring nations. For many years, Moab had plagued Israel and Judah with border wars and dissension. Many ‘wicked’ generations had lived in the nation of Moab, so I am sure that the people of Israel were all in agreement with Isaiah’s prophecy. What an easy thing to listen to, “God will bring destruction on your enemies of old.” As we know, Moab was birthed in sin with Lot’s relationship with his daughter. It is amazing to think how a poor decision by a leader can negatively affect so many people. In addition, how the bad choices of a person can affect the generations to come. We should stop and be thankful for the great spiritual leadership that we get from our church leaders and spiritual leaders in our families. Upon reflection, I can now see how Grandma Hall’s death left a ‘spiritual hole’ in our fa...
