Monday, Review the 4th Week Video and the Intro to Proverbs and read Proverbs 5.
Proverbs 5
Verse 15
Jane Jones

Chapter 5 in Proverbs is our lesson on adultery. The chapter shares with us all the warning signs and gives us advice as what we must do to detour and avoid those temptations.

Verse 15: “Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well.”

THOUGHT
This verse is a picture of faithfulness in marriage. It means to enjoy the spouse God has given you. In desert lands water is precious, and a well is a family’s most important possession. Treat your spouse as if he/she is the family’s most important possession. In the Old Testament times it was considered a crime to steal water from someone else’s well. So goes a true marriage relationship. It is wrong to have relations with someone else while married.

In verses 18 and 19 the Bible tells us that sex is a gift God has given to married people for their enjoyment. May we treat this gift with respect, gentleness, thankfulness, and love.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You this evening for this frank explanation of Your teaching on adultery. We pray that You may always keep our minds on guard against the evil one and on the temptations of everyday life. May we embrace our spouses with so much love and respect tonight that we will affix our eyes solely on them. Lord, the best time to learn the dangers and foolishness of going after forbidden sex is long before the temptation comes.  Help those parents teach their children the lesson of adultery.  Resistance is easier if the decision has already been made. May we be true examples for them.  We pray for this evening and thank You for the peace of true love and the gift of sex. AMEN

Tuesday, Proverbs Chapter 6
Proverbs 6
Verse 5
Jane Jones

Verse 5:  Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

THOUGHT
This chapter is one of warning against several things.  One of which is folly. Folly can be one of many things.

It can mean over extension of money.
It can mean over extension of giving.
It can mean over extension of dreaming.
It can mean over extension of time.
It can mean over extension of friendships.
It can mean over extension of hobbies.
It can mean over extension of parenting.
It can mean over extension of toys.

It is so important to maintain a balance!!!
a balance between generosity and good stewardship,
a balance between being a workaholic and total relaxation,
a balance between being serious all the time and being carefree all the time, a balance between a hobby possessing you or you possessing your hobby,
a balance between parenting to the extent of controlling your children to an    extent of never disciplining them at all.

Above all, my friends and family, we should always act responsibly enough at all times so that our family never suffers.  First is God, second our spouse, and third our children. Keep this in mind when folly precedes your wise judgment.

PRAYER:  Lord, we come to You at a close of another busy week. We lift up praise and thanksgiving to You above all for answered prayer again. For those who have not surrendered, may they do it now. For those who have and may need a reminder, may they let go and let God direct them according to His will.  AMEN

Wednesday, Proverbs Chapter 7
Proverbs 7
Verses 2-4
Delores Little

Verses 2-4:  Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call understanding your kinsman.

THOUGHT
I thought how the number 7 is in the Bible so much.  After reading this chapter, Matthew 18:21-22 came to mind on forgiving not 7 times but 77 times 7, and after seeing the sins God shows in this chapter, we can truly see His mercy on us all.

As I read the above verses, I can see the reason God wants us into His Holy Word daily. Think of the woman in this chapter as the devil. See how he comes to lie and kill us spiritually if we do not have God’s Word to show us the right path to take. We are to write them on our hearts. God’s wisdom is already in each of us who has accepted Jesus as Lord of our life.  He is the Wisdom.

How I thank Jesus for coming to earth to save us all. As it says in verse 23, giving in cost him his life.

I had company last week from CO.  This 19 year girl took the vow to save herself for marriage, and she is so on fire for the Lord. What a blessing to see this way of thinking in this young lady.

PRAYER
Father, forgive us for the things we do that is wrong.  We praise You for forgiving us. Show us daily what You want of us all. Bless all of us daily with Your Wisdom, Love, & Joy. AMEN

Thursday, Proverbs Chapter 8
Proverb 8
Verse 10-11
Delores Little

Verses 10-11:  Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

THOUGHT
What a full chapter of wisdom. I can see Jesus in this chapter so much, but the study in my Bible says not to interpret this as a direct description of Jesus. Sorry guys and gals, I believe with all my heart that this is speaking of Jesus our Lord in the beginning. How you see it is up to you. Isn’t knowing Jesus and having Him as our Savior more than silver and gold and rubies? We look at the worldly things, but having Him is when we become rich in Heavenly ways.

Verses 22-36 explains so much before the world was made and how He was there for He is the Word of God.  John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Every time we read the Word, we are being fed spiritually. How great is that, my brothers and sisters in Christ?  Just awesome, isn’t it? In deed let us rejoice in the Lord and praise His Holy Name for all He has done and given us.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, forgive us for all our sins and thank You for throwing them into the sea never to be brought up again.  It is finished.  Bless each and every one today at work, home and play.  Use us as Your lights in this dark world.  May we trust You always in everything. Heal the sick.  Put Your angels around our men and women in the service and our President.  Give him the wisdom to do the right things for the USA.  Comfort all those who are suffering this day.  In Jesus Name.  AMEN

Friday, Proverbs Chapter 9
Proverb 9
Verse 9-10
Delores Little

Verses 9-10:  Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

THOUGHT
Oh yes, here we have some verses that speak of ones who are willing to learn what the Lord has to teach us every day.  His or her heart is open to want to learn all God has to teach us through His Word.  Fearing the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. To be in awe of who He is and know nothing is impossible with God. He is always there for us and wants us to have His wisdom and knowledge.  He will open our understanding by His Holy Spirit that he sent to us after He died and went to heaven to show us His ways.

Now are we willing to let Him be in control of our lives totally or just let Him do just what pleases us???  This morning I just read in 1 Peter 5:7, ‘to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.’  Let us do that every day.

PRAYER
Father, we praise and thank You for taking our cares and showing us Your Way in our lives daily.  Forgive us when we get in the way and want things to be, like we want them to be.  Lord God, You know I’ve been guilty of that and wanted to put You on the shelf while I try to figure things out my way.  All I did was get further away from You.  Thank God You waited for me to wake up and smell the roses.  We love You and pray You will bless us all to obey Your Word daily.  In Jesus Nam. AMEN
