Click on the Title for a Video Introduction Monday, Exodus Chapter 38 Exodus 38 Mindy Strayer July 30, 2008 THOUGHT Chapter 38 again shows us the amount of resources that went into building His sanctuary. Interesting is that the offerings that were brought in by the Israelite people were directly used. Gold, silver, bronze, fine linen, and yarn of blue, purple, and scarlet coloring were used to construct God’s house and all of the articles that went along with it. God could have commanded His house to be made of different materials, perhaps less costly.  But He did not. Why? I don’t know. The materials sound like they were the best that the people possessed. God is able to work with the ordinary and turn it into the extraordinary. He is able to work with very little and turn it into a lot. But, my guess is that He loves it when His children, with a joyful heart, bring to Him a lot of the best that we possess, and I am not just talking about our finances.  This made me think ab...

THOUGHT After I read this chapter it really made me think about what I am giving to the Lord. What am I giving with regards to money, and what am I giving with regards to my time? Five or six years ago God really spoke to me in this area. Since this time I have tried every January to sit down with my budget and see what I can give to God. However, this chapter is a great mid-year reminder to really exam my heart again. The verse says, “who is willing and whose heart moved him”. I know I must slow down and pray to really listen to what my heart is telling me. I may stop this weekend and examine where my time and money have gone so far this year. Is it right with God? I’m not sure ...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Exodus Chapter 30  Exodus 30 Verse 8 Jeanie Boldt July 3, 2008 Verse:  He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so incense will burn regularly before the Lord for the generations to come. THOUGHT This chapter helps us remember four things. We must remember to pray. The golden altar before the veil symbolized the ministry of prayer. We don’t have to stand before the veil; we can enter the very presence of God. Prayer is special, and we must not treat it as common. Remember we are ransomed. We were not redeemed by paying money, but paying the annual half-shekel reminded the people of what God had done for them. The foundation for everything is redemption. We must remember to keep clean. Like the priests, we are washed once at redemption, but we must keep clean in our daily walk. We must remember to honor the Holy Spirit. The holy anointing oil symbolized the Spirit of God. We must beware of trying to duplicate His wor...

In verse 9 He says, ”Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.” What would you do if God said that of you when you go to build a home or rent a place and buy things for it?  Would you say, “All right Lord, I will obey and do it.” or say, “Oh come on, we want a choice in all this.”?   Back then they had no choice as this was to be the place God would be. His glory would be in it.  We are a people of wa...
