Exodus 25
Verse 9

THOUGHT
In this chapter we read about the offerings for the tabernacle, how to build the ark, the table, & lampstand. In verse 9 He says, ”Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.”
What would you do if God said that of you when you go to build a home or rent a place and buy things for it? Would you say, “All right Lord, I will obey and do it.” or say, “Oh come on, we want a choice in all this.”? Back then they had no choice as this was to be the place God would be. His glory would be in it.
We are a people of wants. We all have been guilty of it. However, if prayed on it, I don’t think there is any guilt, just thanksgiving for what He gives us.
Notice He told them to use acacia wood. I read a story one time out of Guidepost about this apartment in NY that was really old. This guy wanted to buy the building, but he noticed it was made of acacia wood. As the wood ages it gets like stone. It is excellent wood to use. God wanted them to use the very best, and they did.
This is all about God Himself. He is our all. He is our tabernacle, our ark, our table and our lampstand. We thank Him for it all.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, forgive us and open our eyes as we study Your Word daily. Help us live it by the direction of the Holy Spirit and Your loving grace. We give You this day and bless us all. Thank You for everything. In Jesus Name. AMEN

Exodus 26

THOUGHT
Here we are in the chapter with the curtains, and sometimes we think, “boring”. Well, years ago God showed me something far from boring that I have never forgotten. I want to share with you.
Let’s go to 2 Corinthians 5:1 Now we know that if the earthly tent (tabernacle ) we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not build by human hands.”
All right everyone, when we accept Christ as Lord of our life, we are clothed with God’s tabernacle on earth until we are called home to Him. Now notice in this chapter the curtains are made from linen and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn. More than fifty gold clasps are used to fasten them together so that the tabernacle is a unit.
God showed me we are like the curtains clasped together when we become believers. We are the curtains going around the world bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to the nations. Another person believes, and it is clasped to another believer.
In the 80’s I was at a woman’s conference and was singing, praying, and praising God. He gave me a vision of this, and as I looked on the women, their hands were raised high to God. Their hands were clasped together like one curtain. There were more than 5,000 women from all over the world there, and it was awesome to see.
Like Tom and Jane going on their trip in August, they are bringing the Good News down there for the children of Jamaica. More curtains will come forth from all that, and the youth groups at our church the same. We need to be in His Word daily to have the spiritual food to make us all ready as we go forth for Him in prayer, trips, cards, nursing home visits, hospitals and the list goes on. God has called us to go forth for Him. We are the light and salt God is using.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, forgive us if we mess up daily in our walk with You. Let us be the curtains around the world for You and trust You in all things. We pray that You will bless each of us as we work on a mission for YOU. Bless us all, Lord. In Jesus Name. AMEN

Exodus 27
Verses 20-21

Verses 20-21: Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning. In the Tent of Meeting, outside the curtain that is in front of the Testimony, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come.
THOUGHT
We read about the altar of the burnt offering, the courtyard and the oil for the lampstand in this chapter. In my notes in the Bible it says unripe olives were crushed in a mortar. The pulpy mass was then placed in a cloth basket through the bottom of which the oil dripped, producing a clear fuel that burned with little or no smoke. What has that all to do with us today? Well, never take my word for it, but always test the Spirit to make sure this is from the Lord.
The oil today is the Holy Spirit in our lives. We have to be crushed in this world so that we become clear before God and Jesus. Jesus did that for us when He died and rose again. He was crushed for us all, so that by Him we might become the righteousness of God.
Read in John 7:37-39. On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ”If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scriptures has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” By this He meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
Many times we talk much about God and Jesus and leave out the third person of the Holy Spirit. He is very important. We could not understand God’s Word without Him. He will open up our hearts and minds to understand what God and Jesus has to say to us down here on earth.
It says in Hebrews 1:9, “You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” Read Matt. 25:1-13. This is the story of the 10 virgins and the oil. Five were wise and had oil; a1l the others did not. We need to be ready and have our lamps (body and mind) filled with the oil of God’s Word. I truly pray we are all ready for Him when He comes back. Praise the Lord.
PRAYER
Father God, how we thank and praise You daily. We give You this day to use us as You would have us to be used. Open our hearts and minds to hear, and lead us in the way You would have us go each day. Let us spread Your oil not with smoke, but with great power only You can give us. To God be the Glory. In Jesus Name. AMEN

Exodus 28

THOUGHT
This chapter is on the Priestly garments, how each part is made and what they stand for. The thoughts to follow are what the Holy Spirit showed me to share.
Jesus Christ became our Priest and for everyone in the world. When He came into the world as a baby, it was to poor parents, but Godly ones. He didn’t dress in the way it says in this chapter. When He died His clothes were taken off, and He was put on the cross naked. People cast lots for his clothes.
In verse 42 it says ‘Make linen undergarments as a covering for the body, reaching from the wrist to the thigh’. They were covered. They were going into the Tent of Meeting. Jesus was outside the city because He took all our sins on Himself. He died and rose, and now our garments are in Eph. 6:10-17. ‘Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground. “STAND FIRM THEN, WITH THE BELT OF TRUTH BUCKLED AROUND YOUR WRIST, WITH THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN PLACE, AND WITH YOUR FEET FITTED WITH THE READINESS THAT COMES FROM THE GOSPEL OF PEACE. IN ADDITION TO ALL THIS, TAKE UP THE SHIELD OF FAITH, WITH WHICH YOU CAN EXTINGUISH ALL THE FLAMING ARROWS OF THE EVIL ONE. TAKE THE HELMET OF SALVATION AND THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD.” (Every piece we put on is Jesus Himself.)
As believers these are clothes we put on daily now. In 1 Peter 2:9-10, ‘But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful life. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.’
In verses 29-30 you will read where the 12 sons of Israel were over the heart on the garment Aaron wore. Well in our hearts are Christ and the entire God head and also our families and church members, friends & etc. We are to be praying and helping others the best we can.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for another day. Use us in it the way You want to be glorified always in word, thought and deed. Bless everyone this week end and thank You for ordering our steps Your way and not ours. In Jesus Name. AMEN
Friday, Exodus Chapter 29
Exodus 29
Verse 45
Jeanie Boldt
July 2, 2008
Verse 45: Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.
THOUGHT
Last week as I was reading all about the many particular orders that the Lord commanded, gosh, I thought how silly this seems now that the Lord Jesus Christ came and died for us so that we may be saved. We are so freed from the sacrifice and all the pomp and ceremony that the Lord commanded in Aaron’s time.
We dedicate, but God consecrates. We surrender, but He sanctifies and sets us apart for His exclusive use. As God’s priesthood, His people have experienced spiritually what Aaron and His sons experienced physically.
We have been washed. The blood of Christ has cleansed us and our past is gone. Sinful hearts are purified not by religious rites but by faith in Jesus Christ.
We have been clothed. We stand in the very righteousness of Christ and wear the garments of God’s grace.
We have been anointed. We have the Holy Spirit living within, and He enables us to minister.
We belong to God. The priests were marked by the blood on the ear (hear God), the hand (serve God), and the foot (walk with God). The continual burnt offering morning and evening was a reminder of their complete and constant devotion to God.
Let us not forget our daily presentation of our self to God. May The Lord dwell in our hearts and be OUR GOD!!
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus Christ who came so that we may be saved. Thank You for the torn curtain so that through Jesus we can come directly to You. You have given us such a simple easy gift. We love You for it and the grace and mercy that we receive from it. May we continually offer our praise and thanksgiving to You each and every day. In fact, may we be in constant prayer with You!!! You are our God, and we are thrilled to have You in our hearts. AMEN
