Click on title for video Intro Monday, Leviticus Chapter 25 Leviticus 25 Verses 23 & 24 Mindy Strayer Verses 23-24:  The land cannot be sold permanently because the land is mine and you are foreigners-you’re my tenants. THOUGHT Homesteads, whether a house on a lot or a bunch of land, are a big deal in this world. Ownership of one’s home is a very big deal in this country for many different reasons. They can be a source of great joy, contentment, and belonging. But they can also be a source of much sorrow, greed, and headaches. I love how the Lord reminds us in these verses that we are really just caretakers of wherever we live here on earth. Everything really does belong to Him. How freeing! Because they are not really ours, we don’t need to try and hold onto them so tightly.  We should be more able to open them up and share them with others. PRAYER Thank You, Lord Jesus, for redeeming us and giving us an inheritance in the Kingdom of God! Because of You we need not wait 5...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Leviticus Chapter 20 Leviticus 20 Bart Strayer THOUGHT The commands in Chapter 20 have so much meaning behind them. It is clear that God didn’t want even the slightest of sins to penetrate His people. If it did, it had the possibility to destroy peoples and people groups. It seems so simple to understand God’s demands, yet it is so hard for His people to remain loyal to His requests.  Mindy and I were talking about this the other night.  Christ’s death may have changed the way brothers reconcile with each other, and it definitely changed the way God deals with sin. However, sin is still sin, and if left undealt with, can spread like cancer in the body. As we see from this chapter, it appears that God wanted to give the people a structure that offered the holiest of lives. PRAYER Dear Jesus, we again come to an appreciation for Your work on the cross. We thank You for the completeness of Your death and resurrection. Holy Spirit, gui...

Click on title for Video Intro Monday, Leviticus Chapter 15 Leviticus 15 Jane Jones THOUGHT This chapter dealt with the subject of sex. Even though it was hard for me to decipher, we are to have a clear picture that this chapter was not implying that sex was dirty or disgusting. God created sex for the enjoyment of married couples as well as for continuing the race and continuing the covenant. Everything must be seen with a view toward God’s love and control. God is concerned about health, the dignity of the person, the dignity of the body, and the dignity of the sexual experience. His commands call the people to avoid unhealthy practices and promote healthy ones. To wash was the physical health response. This shows God’s high regard for sex and sexuality. In our day, sex has been degraded by publicity; it has become public domain, not private celebration. We are called to have a high regard for sex, both in good health and purity. PRAYER We praise God for the gift of sexuality. ...
