Click on Title for Video Intro   Monday, I Chronicles Chapter 25 I Chronicles 25  Heather Proehl THOUGHT This chapter is about the “prophets” and “musicians”.  We see that there are various ways to contribute to worship.  Some prophesied; some played instruments; some led thanksgiving and praise; etc.  Each of us is to participate in worship.  It’s so exciting to see how many ways you can contribute.  It shows that we can each use the different gifts we have been given.  I’ve been to a few services where they try to incorporate as many ways of worship into one service.  It’s so cool to see how many different gifts can be used.  Painting, dancing, singing, etc. are some of the talents used.  The important thing is to focus on worship and not get distracted with how you look or sound, etc. Find your “niche” and enjoy! PRAYER Father God, You are SO deserving of our worship. I pray that we would each discover the various ways to ...

Click on Title for Video Intro   Monday, I Chronicles Chapter 20 I Chronicles 20 Verse 1 Tanya Ruden Verse 1:  In the spring...David remained in Jerusalem. THOUGHT I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait for spring! This winter has been so long and cold, and all I want to do after I put on my sweatpants is crawl into bed and not move.  I can see why bears hibernate during the winter. So when I read the word spring, I thought I would focus on this verse. I have to admit; I used my notes in my Bible for this chapter.  It states that during this time (spring) David was supposed to head out with his army and help instigate all the plans they had plotted over the winter, but instead he stayed behind.  It was during this time he had his affair with Bathsheba.  How many of us make big plans during the winter for the springtime?  Do we take action or send someone else to do our plans? David decided to stay home, not following the plans God had laid before hi...

This was a day to really be rejoicing unto the Lord. There were many commanders and many other important people alongside them.  Maybe God is showing us how we will rejoice when we go home to Him....

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, I Chronicles Chapter 10 I Chronicles 10 Verse 4 Tanya Ruden Verse 4: ..so Saul took his own sword and fell on it. THOUGHT This was a gruesome chapter and kind of a downer.  But I think it goes to show that no one is perfect, and that pressure gets to all of us.  Even Saul knew he sinned.  At the end of the chapter it says, “Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance.”  Saul knew better and had some inkling from God what he was supposed to do and what would happen.  I know I doubt God sometimes and wonder, what is His plan? What is He doing? But I hang on in faith, believing, hoping He does have a plan, and He will guide me through it to a better place. It is human nature to doubt, but it is strength, good friends and family that get us through.  Saul had just lost his sons, probably the thing that meant the most to him. His odds ...

Click here for Video Intro Monday, I Chronicles Chapter 6 I Chronicles 6  Heather Proehl THOUGHT No one verse really stuck out to me in this chapter. I do find it interesting how each clan was assigned various tasks. Here we see the musicians who ministered to the people. If that were our family, I think it would read like this: Jane and Jean the daughters of Dorothy; Bart and Matthew the sons of Jane; Tanya and Heather the daughters of Jean; Sierra and Crystal the daughters of Tanya and Tony the son of Tanya No offense to those left out; there are plenty of assignments for the rest of the family. We can’t all be musicians: I think it’s so interesting how each person (each clan) has a purpose. That really puts meaning behind someone’s life to understand their purpose.  However, we all serve the same purpose, ‘To love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, our souls, and our minds, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.’ PRAYER Father God, we love You!  We underst...
