Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Psalm Chapter 67 Theme:  Joy comes from spreading the news about God around the world. Author:  Anonymous, possibly written for one of the hares feasts.  Psalm 67 Verses 1-2 Mindy Strayer Verse 1-2:  May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. THOUGHT As Christians, devoted followers of Jesus Christ, we are privileged to have God’s face shining on us. God shows others His glory and His light through us. As I thought about this I asked myself how well I was allowing God to shine His light on my face so that those He places in my life will be able to see Him, and learn of His ways and His salvation.  Sometimes we can cover up the glory of God in our lives by the ugly words that come out of our mouths, or the wrong choices we make about our priorities.  Maybe we were impatient or annoyed with someone in our li...

Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Psalm Chapter 62 Theme:  Placing all hope in God.  Knowing that God is in control allows us to wait patiently for Him to rescue us.  True relief does not come when the problem is resolved because more problems are on the way!  True relief comes from an enduring hope in God's ultimate salvation.  Only then will all trials be resolved. Author:  David, possibly written during the days of Absalom's rebellion (2 Samuel 15-18).   Psalm 62 CFA testimony Verse 12 Bart Strayer Verse 12: and that you, O Lord, are loving. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done. THOUGHT Good news! I passed Level 2 of the CFA. I feel very blessed that God provided this victory, knowing that most candidates failed. If I were to summarize this great testimony, it would go like this. Passing the CFA is a testimony about God choosing to reward hard work and answering our prayers. Over the years my praye...

Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Psalm Chapter 57 Theme:  God's faithful help and love in times of trouble.  When we face trials God will quiet our hearts and give us confidence.  Author:  David Psalm 57 Verse 10 Jane Jones Verse 10:  “For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;               your faithfulness reaches to the skies.” THOUGHT The theme of this Psalm is ‘faithfulness’. There is a story about a couple consisting of a man who married an opera soprano. She loved concerts. Her college years were spent in the music department, and her earliest memories are of keyboards and choir risers. He, on the other hand, leaned more toward Monday Night Football and country music. But he loved his wife, so on occasion he attended an opera. The two sat side by side in the same auditorium, listening to the same music, with two completely different responses. He slept, and she wept. I believe the difference is...

Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Psalm Chapter 52  Theme:  God will judge the evildoer.  Our anger must not block our confidence to God's ability to defeat evil.   Author:  David Verse 8 Jeanie Boldt Verse 8:  But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the House of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever.  THOUGHT This chapter reflects a situation with Doeg, an evil man who had favor with King Saul by spying on David.  When David had learned what Doeg had done, he turned to God for help, for God is the only one who can justly deal with our enemies.  This would be so good for us to remember.  When we are wronged, we want to take punishment into our own hands.  This is especially true when one who is very dear and close to us is hurt.  We need to remember that vengeance is the Lord's.  He will take care of those who hurt others and do not live by the truths God so desires us to.  We need...
