Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Proverbs Chapter 10 Proverbs 10 Verses 19-21, 31-32 Delores Little Verses 19-21a:  When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver. Verse 21:  The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment. Verses 31-32:  The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out. The lips of the righteous know what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse. THOUGHT Well, I noticed in this chapter much is written about our tongues. I cannot answer for any of you, but God is my witness that I have sinned so much with my mouth. Before I accepted Jesus as my Lord at age 24, I used God’s Name in vain, just something awful. That is what I heard at home, and after I married Willie, he tried to correct me on this.  I said to him, “Don’t tell me that when you were in the service you didn’t cu...

For the Lord is your life. THOUGHT “AMEN” enough said. God gives us the free will to choose to follow Him. This is basically a life or death decision we face. By choosing to love God, we have chosen life, and through that decision and our life example, we teach our children to also choose life.  Choosing to follow God is a daily choice and not one we just make and never have to think about again. Each day we are given situations where we can choose to do what Jesus would do or do what we want to do. Because of the gift of grace, we are given forgiveness for the times when we choose unwisely.  Because we love God with all our heart we still have life through our mistakes.  It is something we need t...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Deuteronomy Chapter 25 Deuteronomy 25 Verse 16 Jeanie Boldt Verse 16:  For the Lord your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly. THOUGHT Oh, My Goodness!!! What rules, what laws. Today some of these seem a little outdated or silly. However, how many of our laws will be laughed at in years to come? The thing to remember is that mankind messed it all up. We have thousands of laws written because we cannot follow the TEN that the Lord our God gave us. Rory and I are taking a study on marriage enrichment. The last chapter was entitled Practical Advice on Making a Marriage Work. Charles Swindoll listed five very common-sense things. The last one was “BE NICE”. It is something everyone can do. It includes being courteous. We need to set aside our bad mood and our worries in order to return a smile or compliment. Respect others. Don’t be so critical. Affirm others. Being nice is so simple.  When I think of ...

Click on Title for Video Introduction   Monday, Deuteronomy Chapter 20A (Verses 1-4) Deuteronomy 20A Mindy Strayer Verse 1 Verse 1:  When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you. THOUGHT God tells us NOT to fear when we face our enemies because He is with us. I have read that FEAR stands for “False Evidence Appearing Real.” Jesus says that Satan is the father of all lies (falsehoods). Satan tries to use fear to get us to run away from that which God has called us to do, and he uses it to prevent us from receiving all the blessings that God has in store for us. When we go to war against our enemies we are probably not going to see horses, chariots, and a great big army but there will be something in their place. How do we fight fear? We don’t run away from it. We stand strong. We meditate on it and speak out God’s Word. Thi...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, John Chapter 13 John 13 Verse 7 Mindy Strayer Verse 7: “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” THOUGHT I found this statement by Jesus to be very reassuring.  It’s the kind of statement from God that is very helpful when we find ourselves in the middle of tough times.  We may need to read it again and again in order to allow the Word of God to bring us comfort, peace, and reassurance that through all the mess, God is in charge. So, in order to elaborate on this, I will place two scenarios out there: 1) All of us have had things that we have asked God for in prayer only to have nothing transpire. 2) All of us have had something happen to us or someone we love that isn’t fair and doesn’t seem to make sense causing us to want to ask the question, “Why God?”. Now, along with those scenarios, we have all seen God withhold specific answer to prayer only to have Him later provide an even greater, bette...
