THOUGHT Stop and think about your life...what has been your biggest sacrifice? Maybe it was a day in your life being spent entirely for someone else. Maybe it was your paycheck for a family in need. Maybe it was giving away a possession that meant so much to you. I can’t help but think of when I was five years old, and I was still sucking my thumb when in front of TV or when I went to bed. Dad and Mom told me that I would have to quit before I went to kindergarten. One day Dad said that the next time he saw me sucking my thumb he was going to take away my Tiny-Tears doll. It was my most treasured possession that I loved playing with, my only doll, and pretty much my only toy. The time came when he caught me, and I had t...

Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Philippians Introduction Philippians Introduction Jeanie Boldt Paul wrote this book of Philippians to all the Christian at Philippi and all believers everywhere. He wanted to thank the Philippians for the gift they had sent Paul and to strengthen these believers by showing them that true joy comes from Jesus Christ alone. Paul and his companions began the church at Philippi on his second missionary journey. This was the first church established on the European continent.  Paul was in a Roman prison at the time of this writing.   The key verse in this book is “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”  (4:4) In a life dedicated to serving Christ, Paul’s desire was to know Christ above all else. Let’s rejoice with Paul in Philippians, and rededicate ourselves to finding joy in Christ.  PRAYER Father God, may we grow closer to you as we read the book of Philippians.  May Jesus Christ be our ...

Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Ephesians Chapter 4 Ephesians 4  Verses 4-6 Tanya Ruden Sometimes reading Ephesians is like reading Proverbs. Each verse is so great and has such wonderful information in it; it is hard to choose what verse to pick. Once again, I have chosen a verse and then used other verses in the prayer for the day.  Verses 4-6: There is one body and one Spirit — just as you were called to one hope when you were called — one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.  THOUGHT There is ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE Father. We are to worship only one God in our life, not coveting other items in our lives. We cannot let items become our Gods.  Whether it be money or cars or working, we must always focus on the ONE God. We must always worship and pour all of our faith into ONE God. That is our only hope and is what our faith is founded on.  PRAYER Dear Jesus, we have been ble...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Ephesians Introduction Ephesians  Introduction Jeanie Boldt THOUGHT Paul wrote this letter to the believers in Ephesus when he was a prisoner in Rome. He states the responsibilities of believers in the light of God's great purpose. The phrase that I wrote in my Bible after reading the book was, "We must live as Christ would want us to." This book is a constant reminder of how we can be a better Christian example. It is a letter of encouragement. I know we will experience an uplifting feeling each and every day after our reading. We must be united in Christ and united in the body of Christ.  PRAYER  Lord, thank You for direction to this book. We pray, in Your Will, that our minds, hearts, and souls will be open as You speak to us. Thank You for Paul. How marvelous his faith and encouragement. We pray that we can be ‘Pauls’ here on earth. Help us to speak words of affirmation and give us actions of loving mercy and faithfulness. Help u...
