THOUGHT I like Paul’s use of this story. I have been reflecting on this concept lately. ‘Question’ “Am I doing this on my timing, or am I waiting on God for His time.” Paul was using this story to illustrate man’s will against God. This is still so important in today’s world. I must admit, I am not patient many times, and I want solutions and answers to my questions now. However, God’s clock and mine are very different. Learning and understanding that God has the best in mind for each of us is so very important. It is not easy, and it may force us to give up control over things. But I think we can all agree, it is much better to have the Lord in control than us.  PRAYER Lord, we ask that You would take control over ...

THOUGHT How easy it is to judge people by their appearance, what we see externally in a person. I can remember when I took my children, Matt and Bart, to the park one day for a picnic. They were 8 and 4 respectively. A lady approached and told me what beautiful grandchildren I had. At that time in my life I was 33 years Old. People relate gray hair to age, so in retrospect I looked liked a grandmother not a mother. After telling her they were my children, she was embarrassed and I was crushed. (Smiles)  Anyway, it is easy to rate people on the basis of their official status, appearance, and to be intimidated by powerful people. We should show respect for our spiritual leaders, but our...

Click on Title for Video Introduction Monday, Galatians Introduction Galatians  Introduction Jane Jones The churches Paul founded in the Roman province of Galatia were invaded by false teachers like those Paul had refuted in the Jerusalem council. We call these people Judaizers because they tried to bring Christians into bondage to the Law of Moses. Paul wrote this letter to magnify God's grace in salvation and to explain the freedom of God's people because of that grace. It opens with a personal affirmation as Paul explains how God delivered him from bondage through faith in Jesus Christ. He then gives a doctrinal explanation and shows the relationship between law and grace. He closes with a practical application that tells you how to enjoy grace and freedom in your daily life.  Christian freedom is the liberty to become all that you can in Jesus Christ; it is not the license to do whatever you please. The worst bondage you can experience is living for yourself an...

Click on Title for Video Intro Monday, Psalm 30 Theme:  A celebration of God's deliverance.  Earthly security is uncertain, but God is always faithful.   Author:  David  Psalms 30 Verse 5 Mindy Strayer Verse 5:  For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. THOUGHT I loved this verse! I am a morning person, especially with a large coffee!  I love to get up early in the morning and get a start on the day.  I wake with a feeling of excitement in anticipation for what the day may hold.  Knowing that the day is just jammed packed with possibilities. I think all of us have those days that we just can’t wait to have over for one reason or another.  We go to bed upset, and then when we wake up the next morning, we feel refreshed.  That is God’s Spirit renewing ours. We all have times in our lives when we sin.  God is angry with...
