So, in order to elaborate on this, I will place two scenarios out there: 1) All of us have had things that we have asked God for in prayer only to have nothing transpire. 2) All of us have had something happen to us or someone we love that isn’t fair and doesn’t seem to make sense causing us to want to ask the question, “Why God?”. Now, along with those scenarios, we have all seen God withhold specific answer to prayer only to have Him later provide an ev...

If I had been this man – blind since birth – and then one day a man came, put mud on my eyes and “Wala” – I could see, I would believe.  Can you believe how something so wonderful became such a disaster?  It is like, “I could see this playing out so differently.”  I would think everyone would be glad and have reason to celebrate.  However, the Pharisees were questioning Jesus’ actions and...

The disciples went into town to get food and Jesus stayed at the well.  The Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?”  She, I believe, was really surprised as the Jews had no dealing with the Samaritans.  Then Jesus begins to talk about the living water.  Verse 10… “Jesus answered her, ‘If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.’”   Now she was getting water from Jacob’s we...

Tuesday, John Introduction John Introduction Jeanie Boldt September 11, 2010 THOUGHT John had two purposes in mind when he wrote his gospel: to prove that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and to invite people to believe in Him and be saved.  His evidence for the deity of Jesus is threefold. 1) The miracles He performed 2) The words He spoke 3) The testimony of witnesses who knew Him As we read the Gospel we will hear Jesus speak, see Him act in power, and watch people respond to what He says and does.  Seven witnesses declare that He is the Son of God.   Matthew wrote for the Jews, Mark for the Romans, and Luke for the Greeks.  ...
