Proverbs 5 Verse 15 Jane Jones Chapter 5 in Proverbs is our lesson on adultery. The chapter shares with us all the warning signs and gives us advice as what we must do to detour and avoid those temptations. Verse 15: “Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well.” THOUGHT This verse is a picture of faithfulness in marriage. It means to enjoy the spouse God has given you. In desert lands water is precious, and a well is a family’s most important possession. Treat your spouse as if he/she is the family’s most important possession. In the Old Testament times it was considered a crime to steal water from someone else’s well. So goes a true marriage relationship. It is wrong to have relations with someone else while married.
